#Interview with the Hero of NEVER KISS AND TELL by Megan Gaudino @mkgaud @evernightteen #amazongiveaway

Please welcome an interview
with the hero of
Never Kiss and Tell

Are you happy with the genre your writer has placed you in?
This is a difficult question. My story is considered “young adult” but I’m not young. I’m over a hundred years old. But, this story is about my Sophia, and even though she’s wise beyond her years, she’s just seventeen herself.

Do you like the way the book ended?
No! And I think readers will be shocked, to say the least. I did what I had to do, and I’d do it again if I had to but maybe I’d be more prepared for the big fight next time. Sophia says I’m too confident and I think I’d have to admit she was right this time.

Do have any secret aspirations that your author doesn’t know about?
Well, she knows all I want is to change back into a human from a guardian, but she doesn’t know what I’d like to do if I was a human. I would never, ever, tell her this, but I would like to be a writer myself. With all the things I’ve done and seen I think I could write my own paranormal trilogy.

What is your greatest fear?
Most readers would probably think I’d say not being turned back into a human, but that’s not true. All I want is for Sophia to be safe and happy. If you read Always Kiss Me Goodnight you know someone, something, is after her. My biggest fear would be if I couldn’t keep her safe.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
I seem to fall asleep in my jeans most nights. At least I take my shirt off.

What is your most prized possession?
Definitely my motorcycle.

What do you think your greatest weakness is?
This will sound cocky, but it’s the truth. I’m incredibly fast and strong, even for guardian standards. But, like I said before, it makes me over confident. My greatest weakness is actually my greatest strength. I’m not careful enough sometimes. Especially when dealing with fallen guardians.

What do you think is your strongest attribute?
I try my best to live by a strict honor code. Giving my word and meaning, always doing the right thing. I’m not saying I’m always successful in this, but my desire to be is what keeps me strong.

What do you like most about where you live?
Everything! Our house is unique as you might remember from Always Kiss Me goodnight, and you have to trek through the woods to get there. I love the sandstone cave that leads to the house, though I’m not sure if that counts because it isn’t actually in the house!

What word makes you the happiest?
Sophia. Can I say Sophia’s name? Well, even though it’s a name it’s still the word that makes me happiest.

What is your least favorite word?
Can’t. I don’t like being told I can’t do something. I don’t like the negatives keeping me, or anyone, down.

What sound or noise do you love?
I love the roar of my motorcycle.

What sound or noise do you hate?
Silence. Nothing goo ever happens when it’s too quiet.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Somewhere in the middle. I’m not great in the mornings, but I don’t love the night either. I’m an afternoon person.

If you knew a zombie apocalypse was coming in one week, what would you do?
You know, I’ve never really thought about this. What a good question. I guess it depends on what kind of zombies we’re dealing with here. Fast or slow moving? Brainless or intelligent? Either way I feel confident Sophia and I would be safe at the house. Tera could grow food and between me and Hex we could keep everyone safe.

How do you react when people sing “Happy Birthday” to you in a restaurant?
This is never happened to me but I guarantee I wouldn’t like it.

Have you ever gone alone to either dinner or a movie? What about a vacation?
This is funny to me because the only time I went to dinner alone was a scene in Always Kiss Me Goodnight and I went to a restaurant where Sophia was kind of on a date with Aiden. I sat the table next to them and made Sophia as uncomfortable as possible. I probably wouldn’t ever do it again.

What’s your favorite animal?
 Lion. Of course.

Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo, what would it be and where? If not, what if you had to?
I already have a tattoo on my back. And it’s of a lion!

Thanks again for visiting with us today !!!!
Thank you for having me! I’m sure my writer, and Sophia, would love it it you read our story.

Excerpt:
“Don’t be afraid.” Leo’s deep voice wrapped around me like velvet.
I bolted to the light switch and flicked it up. Was my mind playing tricks on me?
“Leo…” It was barely a whisper and held a hint of a question.
“My Sophia.” He stood up and held his arms out to me, just waiting.
Waiting was something I’d done a lot of for Leo. I kept my spot by the door, with hopes so high they could kill me. He looked the same—out-of-this-world hot, and fortunately not injured in any way my eyes could detect. He wore severely distressed light-washed jeans and a plain black V-neck. His flaxen hair curled wildly around his face and his lips were tight.
The look was so good on him I almost couldn’t take it.
The dark look on his face told me he was feeling exactly the same way about me and my dress.
Without knowing who made the first move, I ended up in his arms. Leo held me close to his chest as my feet no longer touched the ground. I clung to him with everything in me, not caring how hot his flesh felt against mine and forgetting to be angry with him for being gone so long.
“I missed you,” he told me as his hand cupped the back of my head while his other supported the entirety of my weight.
“I missed you more, I bet,” I told him, believing my words to be true. There were so many thoughts swirling in my head.
“Impossible.” He sat us down on the edge of the bed and cradled me in his lap since I refused to end our hug.
“Well, you could at least see me.” I had to point out the obvious. I’d had no way of knowing if he was even alive.
Leo gently nudged my head up with his shoulder and tilted my chin with his burning fingers until it was level with his. “I’m sorry I left you.”
Before I answered, his lips caught mine in a crushing kiss. My hands buried themselves in his hair and held his face as close to mine as possible. My heart was beating so loudly I was sure he could hear it and I couldn’t breathe but it didn’t seem to matter.
Leo’s mouth only left mine to kiss my shoulder, then trailed down to my arm. Where his lips met my skin, visible puffs of steam appeared.
“Oh, God.” He groaned and tried to pull away from me.
“No,” I told him as I tried to keep him close.
“I’m hurting you.” He brushed the hair away from my eyes, just barely touching me.
“Stopping would hurt me.”
My words were all it took for his lips to be back on mine. Leo fell back on the bed and pulled me with him. First I was on top of him. Then all of a sudden Leo was on top. My hands pressed into his back with all the strength I had as I pulled him closer to me.
